David Ziser and Alina
What a great evening I had yesterday! I attended the "Digital Wake Up Call Tour 2009 - A New Dawn," being led by legendary master photographer extraordinaire, Mr. David Ziser himself. It was educational, funny, rewarding, and inspiring. And wow, talk about the prizes! I've never seen so many prizes handed out in one seminar by so many vendors. And I was the fortunate recipient of one of the prizes - the Hot Shots books. Oh, yeah! The icing on the cake was actually meeting David and his wife, LaDawn, and sitting around with a few other photographers at the end of the evening and just exchanging ideas and telling stories. It was really a great evening. So thank you David and LaDawn for bringing the tour to Jersey. You guys are the best. For other photographers out there who are considering attending the tour, I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed. And remember to check-out David's blog at http://www.digitalprotalk.blogspot.com
O.K. so last night after the tour, on the ride home, I was thinking about something that David said about following your dreams and working hard to achieve what you want. I think a lot of us have perhaps heard the same message, but out of all those people who have heard the message, how many are actually moving in a forward direction to achieving their dreams and hopes, whatever they may be. The way I see it is even if the steps I take are baby steps, they are at least steps in the direction that I want to head and in what I want to do and achieve in my life. They are steps in the right direction. So, just because they are baby steps, and it may take me a little longer, they are still important steps that I am taking. It's when we stand still and do nothing that we lose hope of our dreams and expectations. And yes, all the steps we take are hard work, a lot of hard work. But if it's something you want and love, then the work won't seem so hard because in the end it has led you to where you want to go. So take that first step, no matter how small it may seem. It will lead you to your dreams.
See you next time. Hasta luego.
Alina
